Celebrate the Wins while recognizing Reality
Dear DNC,
Stop centering the conversation on an opponent’s blunders or bad policies — trust that the country will embrace Democratic values and accomplishments. We’ve watched the debates, the rallies, the press conferences, the interviews, the town halls — and the message that’s come through most often is “Trump is terrible, and democracy is at stake.”
Those of us who have been paying attention already know that. Those who don’t care have already proven their loyalty to their immoral leader. So let’s move beyond him. Talk about policies — clearly, confidently, and without hesitation. Be proud of what’s been achieved, and celebrate it openly.
In 2020, the entire world faced the shock of COVID and the global economic disruption that followed. Inflation was inevitable — but Democrats helped guide America out of the storm. Highlight that. Remind voters how bipartisan efforts, strong leadership, and sound policy stabilized the economy. When Republicans attack on economic grounds, acknowledge the pain Americans felt — then turn it around and show the progress we’ve made. Back it up with data, not attacks. Use visuals — a whiteboard, a chart — to show the facts.
When immigration becomes the weapon of attack, flip the narrative again. Show with data — even a simple poster — how immigrants have strengthened our economy for decades, enriching communities and supporting growth across generations. The data is there show it off.
The corruption and chaos within the Republican Party will catch up with them on its own. The Democratic Party must be ready — steady, confident, and shining — the reliable force people can believe in.
